Because We Care
Kathy that is one handsome fish! That water looks beautiful and the scene behind… breath taking. Envious. One more thing… It’s all about the smile!
Kathy,
there is nothing more beautiful than a brookie in color! your photo is making me miss Allagash!
Thanks for sharing it and be well.
Hey Kat, is this one yours or one of David’s. The rod i meant…
Both! David and I decided to make two identical rods, and to both make both of them. He split the strips, I removed the nodes and straightened them, I rough planed all of them, he final planed all of them, we both glued, and we alternated wrapping guides. After the rods survived a Labrador trip, we waded in to a place in Maine we call “Little Labrador”.
This handsome brook trout did me the honor the very last day of the season, in a frosty, mossy, and moosey place, on this stream with one of the “Twins”. The smile was heartfelt.
Kat
Great story. Fantastic to know that you both made the rod in the pic. How cool is that! Thanks for sharing.
That is a beautiful brookie!! How wonderful to catch a fish from it’s native range!
Beautiful Brookie. That is a huge brook trout. Here in Michigan they are my favorite trout to catch. Even the 3″ gems have amazing colors.
