I've been using Sport Optics for years, but tried a pair of Costa Del Mar glasses. What a difference. Does anyone have a suggestion on the best glasses for fly fishing streams/rivers?

Smith Glasses, without a doubt. I use the "method" model. I use Smith for every day use too, not just angling. The have a zillion styles, and now with the mix and match, you can most certainly find a paring that works. I really, really want the smoke fade grey in the method style. :) I just have to bust out the charge card one of these days.

I just purchased a pair of Fathom Costa Del Mars. The water clarity seems excellent. The 580 lens make a marked improvement over my Sport Optic Fishbone, adding depth and spotting easier. The fit for me is exceptional. When I tilt my head to look down the glasses don't 'swing' forward, as my Oakleys Monsters did, but remain in place, which is helpful when walking in boulder strewn waters such as the Pitt or the Kern River. I opted for the 'Green Mirror' which I believe gives you better protection and visibility. The weight of the glasses are less than my Sport Optic fishbone, which allows more comfort in wearing them for longer periods of time without the pressure on the bridge of my nose. If you wear snap on magnifiers as I do they fit very well over the lens. The Oakleys Monsters have a small rid on the interior of the frame which makes it difficult for the snap ons to lay flat when flipped down. I liked the styling of the 'arms' on the Oakley Monster better, they look a bit more racey, but I'm not into the styling as such. The Fathoms are more conventional. Retail price is around $240-$265, but I found them for $139.00 on line @ ebay.

Hello all...
I'm in the market for new sunglasses and was wondering if you have more recommendations, as the original post is over a year old. ;) I'm looking to spend under $200. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

I am very happy w/ my glasses from KAENON...........great coverage and superior optics. I think they are better than my previous glasses which were Maui Jims..............

I am going to say stick with Smith optics, and now with their new 'Interlock' system, one can change out the lens's and the arms simply, making for the ability to change up the look and application (sun, snow or foggy conditions).

I purchased my Methods (not interlock) for under $200.00 and they (like most others) come with a lifetime warranty. I also have a pair of Oakley's that i like a lot too, however i find the style(s) that Smith offers more flattering and more diverse. Also, their PR when returning a pair is fantastic.

Good luck and please let us know what you ended up choosing. :D
